Athletics is the biggest group and allows participants to be part of a team as well as compete as an individual. One of the biggest benefits of athletics is having performances recorded at competitions so we can measure the progress of each and every one of the athletes. Their best performances are known as personal bests or more commonly referred to as pbs and all of the athletes have improved as they develop technique and skill in their events.
We recommend our athletes to have a go at running, jumping and throwing to improve all round skills until they can settle on the events they feel most comfortable with. There are regular one day competitions with two indoor during the autumn/winter and 4 or 5 outdoor during spring/summer. Annually, we host the final summer competition at Kings Park on the first Sunday in September. We encourage our athletes to enter competitions as it is amazing how much progress they can make within that competitive environment and the vast majority of them do compete and enjoy the atmosphere and experience
Training takes place from 10:00 – 11:30 at two venues depending on the time of year.
From March to October we are at Kings Park Athletics Stadium, Kings Park Dr, Bournemouth BH7 6JD
